Candies
Under the word
“sogno”, (=”dream”), a really dreamy sound of sitar lies. The “Paradise”
effect to the real sitar cascade sample was realized in RoomVerb. Isolated
for you: A sound of my own comes out after the first verse. It is a
morphing between synth and strings, convoluted with a water-drop sound. The
waterdrop convolution gives it a very shimmering effect, and the stereo panning
gives it a motion: Shimmering-droplet-convolution.mp3 The slide guitar solo comes from a classical Indian record that
I sampled. It was playing with an accompanying tampura, I instructed the
Noise removal tool in Adobe Audition that tampura was the unwanted noise, and
I got the slide guitar alone! The solo, then, is a matter of cut into single
notes, copy, paste, stretch and transpose, done into Melodyne. Here are some

Indian tampura, sarangi, sitar. Brijbushan Kabra : slide guitar, sampled
and re-arranged into Melodyne. Mastered with Ozone and Roomverb plug-ins

Software to replicate the candies
No free software, I’m sorry. Adobe Audition
is my audio editor, but you can have noise reduction in whatever audio
software you use (wavelab, sound forge). You can try that also with Nero! I
am not aware whether the freeware Audacity will do:
For convolution I use Voxengo Pristine
Space. A freeware convolutor was SIR, but Pristine Space is far more powerful
at a cheap price.
